A promotional calendar is an excellent way to drive traffic to your website. Offering one promotion for each product or service that you sell can help bring in first time customers. It’s also a great strategy to keep current customers coming back for more. 

Here’s how to create a promotional calendar that will drive traffic to your website and increase your conversion rate.

Plan Ahead

Keep the long-game in mind as you sit down to design your promotional calendar. Create a promotion for every individual product or service you offer. Plan a week-long promotion for each product or service. Send a heads up email to your subscribers to let them know about your sale. Then send a daily email promoting that week’s sale.

The goal is to stretch out your promotions as long as you can. Offering your customers increased value through discounted rates is a great way to convert traffic from your email list to sales on your website. Promotions are how many companies create first time buyers who turn into raving fans. If you can handle a constant discount of at least one of your products or services, then do it and make sure to let your audience know.

What to Offer

The second goal of promotions beyond the increased web traffic is to have customers purchase more than they normally would. This increased purchase amount will drive your revenue, and it will give the quality of your products or services more exposure. 

Promotions like buy 2 get 1 free, or or 25% off entire orders with a minimum purchase amount are great ways to encourage your customers to buy in bulk. Even promotions as simple as free shipping for a specific product can increase sales.

Promote On All Channels 

Make sure to promote your upcoming sale on all channels. Email lists are golden as they offer the most direct contact with your audience, but you need to make sure to also promote your sale on all your social media channels. Once you have created your long-game promotional calendar and have decided on the promotions you are going to offer, add the promotion to all of your social media content calendars.
